Chinese New Year is here ! So I made this little tutorial for you to suit this year’s colors :]
*Gold & Pink* <- This year’s RED is PINK :]
Enjoy !
Step-by-Step
- (Optional) Apply a eyeshadow primer. This time I used a color base not a clear one :]
- Apply a gold eyeshadow all over your eyelid (Urban Decay > Half Baked)
- Apply any pink color you want on the outer V. I would suggest not too soft not too strong. I also mixed with a purple eyeshadow (Urban Decay >Sphynx)
- Apply a mix of dark purple and light purple on the crease area (Urban Decay > Ecstasy & AC/DC)
- Apply any pink color on the bottom eye. Stop half way. (Urban Decay > Sphynx)
- Apply white eyeshadow on your browbone and inner corners of your eye.
- Apply a beige eyeshadow on the inner corners of your eye. Stop half way.
- Apply black eyeliner as close to your eyelashes then curl your lashes (Urban Decay > 24/7 Glide-on Pencils -Black-)
- Apply liquid black eyeliner. Note: I did not apply the eyeliner all the way.
- Apply your fav’ mascara on top and bottom
- Apply black eyeliner on the bottom lashes and line your waterline with white pencil
Have fun with this look and Happy Chinese Tiger Year :]

As I have promised 2 days ago that i will be uploading the evening look for smokey eyes, here it is !
Again this is more recommended for liquid/cream/gel eyeliner. I haven’t tested with pencil eyeliner.
Step by Step (from left to right)
- (Optional) Apply a primer eyeshadow to keep your make-up all night long (Urban Decay > Eyeshadow Primer Potion)
- Apply your fav’ eyeliner (Shu Uemura liquid black eyeliner -limited edition-)
- Apply a grey eyeshadow as shown on the picture then use an eye smudge brush to smudge the eyeshadow. Note: be careful not to break down your liquid eyeliner while smudging. Keep adding the eyeshadow if you wish. (Urban Decay > Gunmetal)
- Apply black eyeshadow on your crease area as shown on the picture then gently smudge the eyeshadow (Urban Decay > Perversion)
- Apply your fav’ mascara for both top and bottom
- Gently apply your fav’ black eyeliner for bottom. It’s ok if it’s abit messy you can use a Q-tip to clean it or just gently smudge. In addition, I fixed my liquid eyeliner which I extended and connected the edge of the eye for a cat eye look :] (Urban Decay >24/7 Glide-On Pencils -Black-)
- (Optional) You can apply your fav’ black eyeliner on the waterline on the top for a more darker look.
- Apply a grey eyeshadow using an extra thin eyeliner brush on the bottom lashes (Urban Decay > Gunmetal)
- Apply either a white eyeshadow or something that it creamy-ish. I used a creamy-ish eyeshadow because it stands out more than my white eyeshadow i have and it’s great for nighty event :] (Urban Decay > Sellout)
- (Optional) Because I applied the creamy-ish eyeshadow on the rest of my lid. I applied a thin layer of white eyeshadow on the bone which is closes to my brows and on my inner corners :]
Tip* For a more dimensional look, you can wear fake eyelashes either thick ones or natural ones :]
Do you like this method for smokey eyes? Let me know !

I’m trying to move all the looks i’ve done since new year but it seems to be difficult. I’ll try to find a way to do that later >.<
Anyway, I wonder if any Asian girls (especially) know how to do smokey eyes themselves? Well, I have to admit I always love the smokey eyes look but everytime I tried to do it. It always turned out like panda eyes so I gave up. However, since i’ve been so into make-up recently and asked many close make-up artists, I kinda figured out how to do it but in my own way :] so one morning, I created my way of doing smokey eyes so enjoy !
Note: this is best for liquid/gel/ cream eyeliner !
Step by Step: (from left to right)
- (Optional!) After applying your foundation and set your make-up with powder, apply a primer eyeshadow (Urban Decay > Eyeshadow Primer Potion)
- Line your eyes with your fav’ eyeliner first
- Using a thin brush, apply a thin layer of grey eyeshadow (Urban Decay > Gunmetal).
- Using an eye smudge brush, gently smudge the eyeshadow. Then keep applying more grey eyeshadow on your lid until you’re happy with it. (I would strongly advice you to look at a mirror after each smudging stage to see whether you should stop applying more eyeshadow or not) Note: be careful when smudging the eyeshadow that you don’t remove your eyeliner!
- Apply a black eyeshadow on your crease then gently smudge (Urban Decay > Perversion)
- Apply a white eyeshadow on your browbone. This will give more dimension on your eyes :]
- Curl your lashes and apply your fav’ mascara
- Finally, this is optional. Line your waterline on the bottom with a white liner :]
The last two pictures is to show you the final result :]
Note: As you can see I didn’t do my bottom part because I didn’t want to go to class with heavy make-up >.< However, next time I will add the next part for evening look :] so stay tune !
