*Removing Fake Nails @ Home

Did you ever wanted to remove your fake nails because they feel awkward after a week or so?

Here is a nice tip for you to do it at home safely ;)

These are what you need:

-Aluminium Foil

-Face Cotton or tissue paper ( I ran out of cotton)

-Nail Remover (any is fine)

All you need is:

1. Place your finger at the center of the aluminium foil

2. Place a small amount of cotton or tissue paper on top of your fake nail

3. Apply nail remover on the cotton or tissue paper. Make sure that the cotton or tissue paper looks quite soaked so that you can remove it easily later.

4. Wrap the aluminium foil very closely and tight to your finger so that the nail remover doesn’t leak out of the aluminium foil.

5. Wait for for about 20-30min. Unless you feel somewhat your finger is burning after at least 15min.

6. If you feel the burn, open up to have a look. If the fake nail color isn’t white creamy-ish then wrap it back. But if it is white creamy-ish, you can try to pull out the fake nail slowly from the top. If you used cotton, the process would be much better and after waiting for about 20-30min, the fake nail would melt.

7. Don’t forget to apply some body lotion or moisturizing lotion for hand and nails  after you’re done because your hands tend to be dried out if the nail remover went all over your hands during this process

This is what happens after step4:

Here are the NO-NO when you want to remove your fake nails.

By doing these, you would just damage your real nails or even hurt yourself:

  • Filing the fake nails would just take ages to finish one nail if both hands were all fake ones.
  • Cutting off the fake nails: this is quite dangerous… I tried once and filing the parts I couldn’t cut was quite dangerous… I could have damage my nail
  • Forcing the nails  to come off when dried: remember this is like super glue ? you’re just gonna damage your nail more
  • Soaking your nails in the water then forcing the nails to come off: same thing, damaging your real nails

I hope you like this tip !

Take care !
